Meet the Team

Proprietors

Sue and Andy Robertson

Sue and Andy have been involved with horses for many years and have a wealth of experience. They have also followed and supported their children through the different grades of pony club, BSJA classes and up to International competition. They have spent time abroad seeing how different yards are built and run and they designed and built Rumbolds as an equestrian establishment and work is always in progress for more improvements. Sue oversees and manages the yard with the help of a strong and dedicated team.

Amelia Robertson

Amelia has been involved with horses all her life and her great passion is show - jumping in which she has been trained by Corinne Bracken. She has a degree in International Equine & Agricultural Business Management from the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester. In her work placement for her degree, she was under the tutelage of Sue Dyson at the Animal Health Trust in Newmarket, working in the MRI dept. A lot of the research for her dissertation on the collateral ligaments of the DIP joint was carried out there. She was awarded a first for this work. She is now completing an equine sports massage course under the renowned Chartered Physiotherapist Mary Bromiley, having also completed her ITEC human massage qualification. She has numerous other equine qualifications and has competed regularly on the BSJA show - jumping circuit. Amelia is involved in running the yard with her mother at Rumbolds and riding her own and clients' horses. She hopes to
build up her own client base in equine & human sports massage on site and in the Sussex area.

Farm Manager

Nigel Farmer

Nigel is very experienced in all aspects of farm work and has many qualifications in this area including health and safety management at work. Nigel runs the organic side of the farm, is responsible for making hay, field management, woodland management, sheep care, all yard maintenance and has built all of the equestrian facilities at Rumbolds!

Vicki Davis

Vicki gained her BHSAI about 12 years ago training in some of the best establishments in the country. Over the years she has taught clients of various standards and managed large busy stables, staff and clients. She has worked at several studs and had her first home bred foal in 03. Vicki has competed at county level showing and has been involved with breeding horses for several years and is very interested in researching bloodlines. Vicki and Jason breed their own warmblood Dressage horses (spring falls stud)and are based here at Rumbolds.

Dressage/Remedial Horse Trainer

Jason Davis

Jason trained in Germany for 9 years with some of Germany’s best trainers and riders. In his time there he learned to ride and train horses up to Grand Prix level and was shown every aspect of horse management. A lot of his time was spent training stallions and he offers experienced help preparing young stallions for grading and more. Jason has worked with many top vets and physiotherapists in the South working on remedial and problem horses with great success. Jason is also available for lessons and breaking in.

Adam Guminski

Adam comes from Poland and has been with us at Rumbolds for 2 years. He is an experienced horseman and spent time in Germany working on a large Holstein showjumping yard where he was involved with breeding and riding. Adam works the yard and exercises and rides several of the full livery horses.
